James W. Stout is an accomplished trial advocate renowned for his expertise in medical negligence, specializing in failure-to-diagnose cases. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Stout clerked for the Honorable Judge Deborah Barnes of the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals before going into private practice at one of Oklahoma’s largest personal injury firms where he successfully represented over 200 clients, obtaining the monetary awards that they deserved. He is generally recognized as an authority in medical record review and the emerging field of metadata analysis. Having secured several million-dollar awards for his clients, Mr. Stout is known for his ability to identify medical errors by health care providers who needlessly inflict permanent physical injuries on innocent patients. Before entering private practice, Mr. Stout clerked for the Hon. Deborah Barnes, Presiding Judge for Division II of the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals. He recently co-authored the book Winning Settlements, published by Trial Guides – the premier legal media company and educator for the plaintiff’s bar.
Mr. Stout graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma and obtained his Juris Doctorate from the Oklahoma City University School of Law. He previously served as a distinguished member of the OCU Law Review.
